THE ARTISTS
Papaya Records is an independent Nepali hip-hop and lofi label, based out of Australia. We put out music that doesn’t ask permission to be heard — rap, drill, R&B, and lofi built in the studio between Kathmandu and Sydney.
We are not a major. We are not a collective with a press kit. We are two artists and a tape deck, and we release the records we want to hear.
Sharad Ghimire — producer, songwriter, and one half of Papaya Records. Sharad builds the sessions — the loops, the drum patterns, the texture. His records carry the label’s sound: warm, patient, heavy on the low end.
ItsUrBoyLane — rapper, R&B writer, and the voice most people first hear on a Papaya release. Lane writes the lyrics that go over Sharad’s beds — love songs and street stories in Nepali and English, with a cadence that’s unmistakably his.
WHAT WE DO
Write, produce, and release records under the Papaya Records name. Studio sessions in NPT and AEST — we keep both clocks running. Distribution across Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Deezer, and Amazon Music. Cover art, mastering, and release scheduling handled in-house.
